DIA Is Recruiting New Board Members!

Do you live or work in the Dimond? Are you passionate about neighborhood beautification, public safety, economic development, or bringing people together?

The Dimond Improvement Association (DIA) needs you! We’re looking for folks with time and interest to join our Board of Directors beginning in April.

The DIA’s mission is to make Oakland’s Dimond District a vibrant, safe, and beautiful place for everyone to live, work, shop, and play. We are a community-based non-profit organization that brings together residents, businesses, city and state agencies, and other groups to work on community projects, address issues of common concern, and to cultivate a friendly, inclusive neighborhood.

Last year, the DIA hosted several community events in the Dimond District including Oaktoberfest, Dimond Shine, and Dimond Lights. We also run Keep Dimond Clean, a weekly service that cleans the streets of our commercial district. If you’re interested but you’re not sure you can commit, reach out anyway. We would love to get you involved with one of our committees as a community volunteer. There are lots of ways to help serve.

To explore this opportunity—or learn more about DIA—email nominations@dimondnews.org with the subject line “DIA Board Interest” and one of our board members will respond.

Thank you for your support for the Dimond!
